An established law firm based in Observatory, Cape Town, specializing in debt collection, is seeking a Candidate Attorney to complete a full two-year contract. This role offers exposure to legal practice within a dynamic environment, requiring strong academic grounding, excellent communication skills, and a results-driven attitude. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct legal research, assist with case preparation, and support the firm’s operations while demonstrating commitment, professionalism, and adaptability to after-hours work when required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research to support case preparation and debt collection matters
• Assist attorneys with drafting, documentation, and administrative tasks
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
• Demonstrate professionalism and willingness to work after-hours when necessary
• Support the firm’s debt collection processes with accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain strong organizational and administrative practices

Qualifications

• Completed LLB degree with strong academic transcript
• Completed law school is advantageous but not compulsory
• Energetic and result-driven attitude
• Willingness to work after-hours if operational circumstances require
• Previous experience in a law firm is advantageous but not compulsory
• Ability to conduct legal research
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English
• Well-spoken and administratively strong
